Pirate party games

My newly four-year-old nephew is having a pirate-themed birthday party today, and my incredibly organised sister has worked out some special pirate party games. I thought I'd place them here in case anyone else finds them useful.
  1. Pieces of Eight (find a picture of a pirate, cut it into eight pieces, write a number on the back of each piece to show they belong to the same puzzle, and then hide them around the house or garden. The children have to find their number and piece together the puzzle.)
  2. Musical Islands (a variation on musical chairs - the children sit on cushions)
  3. Pin the Patch on the Pirate (a variation on pin the tail on the donkey)
  4. Pass the Booty (a variation on pass the parcel)
  5. Treasure Hunt (what would a pirate party be without the ability to hunt for treasure?)
Does anyone else have some fun games to add? Or anyone use some of these to great success?

These sound great! I bet those kids had a blast. I think re-theming games they already know is a good idea, and Pieces of Eight sounds like fun.

They sound fun. I just had a pirate themed scavenger hunt for my son's birthday party & it went over really well.

The games sound like fun.

My son had a pirate tea-party for his daughter. Boggles the mind, but a good time was had by all.

Eve: Great to meet you too, and thanks for popping by :).

Beth: Everyone certainly seemed to enjoy themselves, although we had a bit of trouble convincing the children they should kept passing the "booty" round, when unwrapping it seemed like a much better idea to them :).

Cherie: Pirates are definitely back in again now. Some of the kids had great costumes!

WritingNut: The kids seemed to like them ;).

Melissa: A scavenger hunt sounds great too. I know my nephew enjoyed doing one last year and that wasn't even themed.

Judie: Aww, a pirate tea-party :). I have such a sweet picture in my mind. Glad everyone enjoyed it.

These sound like fun ideas. Pin the patch on the pirate will probably be a hit!

Hi, new follower here! You've got a fun blog. I work with children, so learning about any kind of game or theme is always helpful to me.

Pat: Hi, thanks for visiting :).

Theresa: Getting the kids to queue to pin the patch on was interesting (and, in the interests of safety, Blu-Tack was substituted for pins ;)).

Eagle: I've always liked treasure hunts, but I'm terrible at deciphering clues!

Shelley: Hi and welcome! Hope the games prove useful.

Ha! We had a pirate party when my son turned 4 and i recognize a couple of these, though we were plagued with an obnoxious boy who wouldn't follow directions and kept ruining things...

There's often one child who's a pain, isn't there? Luckily, at my nephew's party, the kids were all very well behaved.
